Lexus of Stevens Creek, in association with Cal-Hi Sports Bay Area and the non-profit organization 19 for Life, presents the 2016 Lexus Volunteer Scholarship Awards to local high school athletes who exemplify the balance of a successful college bound high school curriculum while excelling in athletics and actively volunteering in the community.
All high school volunteer athletes who have been chosen and recognized by Cal-Hi Sports Bay Area as the “Volunteer of the Week” during the 2015-2016 season are eligible to enter the promotion for a chance to win one of five scholarship cash prizes. The Lexus Volunteer Scholarship Awards will be presented at the Cal-Hi Sports Bay Area Annual Awards Banquet on Monday, May 23rd at Levi’s Stadium.
YOUR VOTE COUNTS! The first phase of the program kicks off Wednesday, March 23rd with a Facebook voting contest in which family, friends and the community have the opportunity to vote for their favorite volunteer athlete. The voting period will last three weeks, through Wednesday, April 13th, and the top ten participants will move on to the second phase, the essay portion. From there, a panel of judges will choose five volunteer athletes to be interviewed and then awarded at the banquet. The awards include (1) $3,000, (2) $2,000 and (2) $1,500 scholarship cash prizes!
